Karim van Peet

Biography
I'm Karim Philip – composer, producer, and keys player. My love for music began in early childhood when I danced to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. This led to violin lessons at a young age, which
laid the foundation for my musical journey. After six years, I shifted to piano, drawn to figuring out songs by ear and eventually writing my own. By the end of high school, I was performing original
music with bands.

Bands & Production

During my studies at the conservatories in Amsterdam and Utrecht, I developed a love for synths and production. I played keys in multiple bands, adapting studio pop for live shows – something I still enjoy.

Interdisciplinary & Studio Work
At the Utrecht Conservatory, I explored film, theater, and visual art projects. I also focused on production and engineering, which led to an internship at E-Sound Studio’s and a growing role in helping other artists shape their sound.

Own Work
Though I no longer play violin, its melodic influence stays with me. I’m currently finishing my debut album Beginning of There Ending of Here – a project built around field recordings of train stations across Western Europe, transformed into electronic compositions.
